"History is the story of redemption. This story is much bigger than I am. I am not the main character in the drama of redemption. I am not the point. But by God's grace I am a part of it. It is far more significant to have a small part in this story than to star in my own puny production. This is a cosmic story that will run throughout eternity. Will I play my part with grace and joy, or will I go for the short-run, insignificant story that really has no point?" -Susan Hunt

First day of school!
Nykolas and Mia started school on Thursday...half day then full day on Friday. It has been a great transition. Both have come home all smiles and full of news. It is hot so the walk too and from school is a bit melty but that should change soon. We all walked them on Thursday...what a crew we are...quite a smile inspiring walk to all the Japanese opening their shops that morning.
Kind of strange just having two littles at home during the day. Lili and I will start Kindy on Monday. We did a bit on Friday just snuggling and reading. So nice. I have been a little worried that Lili will be sad she is not a part of the school adventure but she seems not to be bothered at all. I feel she is finally ready for the reading and writing adventure....at least showing more of an interest than before....so I am projecting this to be a great year all around!

Well, we are surviving the long hot Tokyo summer. Nykolas has had friends that have been here all summer with us but the girls closest friends have been in the States for the last month or so.....thankfully for us we are welcoming them back to our side of the ocean. King Tut was here.....
Well, really he wasn't. We paid big bucks and waited in long lines to see all the things that were buried with him....just goes to show you cannot take anything with you at the end of your life.....collecting things and living the 'life' is an empty waste of time.
