Knowing that we will be in a new country with no new friends and certainly no cousins nearby we thought having Nykolas' birthday party before we left would be a good idea…..thus the idea for ‘The Great Campout’ was born (although it was too cold for our little people to actually sleep in the tent). It was wonderful.....a bonfire, hot dogs, s'mores, a tent cake (a la Aunt Christi), uncles and daddies to play hide and seek, presents, Laura (my parent’s neighbor whom the kids have fallen in love with...), Uncle Bill (a family friend), a scavenger hunt, sleeping on the living room floor with cousins, and a huge pancake breakfast......a child's delight! Oh, and Evan's girlfriend, Carla, drove her VERY cool red Herbie and gave Nykolas a ride….the cherry on top of a perfect birthday!
"History is the story of redemption. This story is much bigger than I am. I am not the main character in the drama of redemption. I am not the point. But by God's grace I am a part of it. It is far more significant to have a small part in this story than to star in my own puny production. This is a cosmic story that will run throughout eternity. Will I play my part with grace and joy, or will I go for the short-run, insignificant story that really has no point?" -Susan Hunt

Last Day of School...
We feel truly blessed that Nykolas was able to be a part of God's Little Grove Preschool. In a few short months he learned a lot about being kind to others and his speech has improved. We were invited to attend his last day (we being Daddy, Mommy, Mia and Lili) ....Mia was delighted to be like Nykolas and meet his friends. Ms. Tonya and Ms. Cindy were so patient with him and loved him through some misbehaviour. He will really miss his 'best' friends, Ethan and Ashton....although I think Ms. Tonya will be glad the two rambunctious ones (Ashton and Nykolas) are separated.

Asheville...
and breath in our very missed mountain air....we drove the curvy mountain roads, checked out the changes in downtown, had a picnic on our very own deck and caught up with dear friends Shelley and newly engaged Heather! To those who we were not able to be with ~ we miss you terribly and wished our time could have been long enough to include you all.
